Gr 12 Limpopo learner killed by boyfriend (24)

A Gr 12 learner was killed in a supposed domestic violence incident in Sebayeng. Her 24-year-old boyfriend was arrested after confessing to police.

LIMPOPO –Police in Sebayeng have opened a murder case after a Grade 12 female learner was killed in an incident believed to be related to domestic violence at Ga-Makgoba village on Wednesday (June 10).

The suspect, aged 24, was arrested after reporting to a police officer that he had murdered his girlfriend.

How the suspect was caught

At about 8:40 PM, the suspect went to the residence of a SAPS member at Titibe Village, Ga-Dikgale, and informed him that he had killed his girlfriend. Police were immediately alerted and responded to the report.

Upon arrival, the suspect led police members to his residence at Ga-Makgoba village, where they discovered the victim lying motionless inside his bedroom. She was certified dead at the scene.

Cause of death

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim had been strangled. The motive for the incident is currently unknown.

Court appearance

The suspect is expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon.
