POLOKWANE – A woman who was raped in the bushes between Ladanna and Disteneng on Sunday morning, bit off a part of her attacker’s private parts before she fled to report the incident at the nearest police station.
Westenburg police spokes-person, Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, said the woman was walking from Ladanna in the direction of Disteneng when an unknown man approached her, pulled her into a nearby bush and robbed her of her cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money. Thereafter he raped her.
After he raped her, the woman bit the private parts and fled to the Westenburg police station to report the matter, Mashiane said.
The woman showed the police where the incident had occurred, gave the police a statement and was taken to the Thuthuzela Care Centre where she was examined and treated by a doctor.
“The Westenburg police are investigating a case of robbery and rape. After reporting the matter at the police station, the woman took the police to the crime scene where a part of the suspect’s private parts was found.
“After further investigation the police found the suspect at one of the local government hospitals. The suspect was charged and is currently under police guard at the hospital. He will appear in court as soon as possible,” Mashiane said.
