POLOKWANE – Think you’re good at playing FIFA 15? Think again.

David Mphahlele was crowned champion at Mall of the North during a Fifa 15 tournament. Fifa 15 is an association football simulation video game.

Mphahlele walloped all the other players and received a trophy and a shopping voucher worth R500.

The tournament was the first of its kind in the province and was hosted over a period of three days over the weekend during which people of all ages were welcome to participate, using their joystick skills to win the tournament.

This activity was an exciting opportunity for Mall of the North to offer even more school holiday fun-filled entertainment for the children who enjoy gaming at home.

Samuel Mphanga, marketing director of T-Empross, the company that initiated the tournament, said the tournament was a time consuming and fun activity for the children.

“I would like to thank René van der Merwe, Mall of the North marketing manager for the opportunity she gave us as young people to exercise our skills and creativity regarding marketing because she saw potential in us,” he said.

He also thanked Kevin Bothma, Game Mall of the North store manager for the opportunity given and time taken to make everything possible.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to our graphic designer, Adrian Dziva, marketing director, Makhosini Dimakatso and everyone who supported us throughout. Special thanks to our special guest, Mopedy for being at the grand opening and of course, let’s not forget God’s part in everything,” he said.

Mphahlele expressed his excitement when he was announced champion.

“I play Fifa games everyday; that is the reason I hammered some of the players I played against.

“I plan to buy more games with my voucher and I’m very grateful for this prize,” he said.
