LIMPOPO – Last week, a local resident visted Letaba Herald’s offices in Tzaneen to warn the town about the aggressive hippo’s at the Tzaneen dam wall.
The resident’s dog was attacked by the hippos while walking close to the dam wall. Something she does every afternoon reported Letaba Herald.
According to the resident the attack happened so quickly “the hippo was still under the water and the next moment it attacked my dog”.
The dog survived the attack and is still at the vet.
Recent sightings of hippos and their calves have been reported. The dog owner took a video of how close to the dam wall a hippo comes (watch video here).
