Dreadlock duo out of the cold

Thanks to a good Samaritan, Ernest Dzenga (25), Gabriel Shamhuyarira (30) from Greenside are out of the streets

POLOKWANE – Thanks to a good Samaritan, Ernest Dzenga (25), Gabriel Shamhuyarira (30) from Greenside, who used to run their hair dressing business along pavements in the city, now operate from a salon.

The duo specialises in dreadlocks.

Noma Toronga, manager and owner of Noma’s Hair Salon, says she feels good to work with these two men she found on the street. She also looks forward to assist them to get their business off the ground.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Dzenga and Shamhuyarira have been living in Limpopo for the past five years.

“This is a good business, we are glad to have employment. It means a lot to us to be recognised by people on the street who often come to us, regardless of us being foreign nationals,” says Shamhuyarira.

“Having a sponsor for our business encouraged us and we look forward to let everyone look beautiful with our talent for hair dressing,” says Dzenga.
