POLOKWANE – Limpopo golfers, as well as some from as far as Johannesburg, competed in the BMW Golf Cup International 2015 at the Polokwane Golf Club last Thursday.

The BMW golf challenge was attended by the well-known golf professional, Dale Hayes, who entertained those present during the prize-giving ceremony with his jokes.

Hayes said Limpopo should be proud to have some of the best golfers in the world, such as Retief Goosen, who is now playing professional golf.

Desi Earle was the star of the day and was awarded for playing nearest to pins four and 16. She claimed second position in the ladies handicap 0 to 28 category with 32 points.

Peter Chauke was rewarded for the longest drive on hole two, while Otto Muller was awarded for playing the longest drive on hole 17.

Andries and Belinda du Plessis were recognised for other talents and awarded for being the Best Dressed Couple.

The dates and venues of the finals are said to be a surprise for those who qualified.
