Designing duo now live their dreams

It is very easy to fall into despair when you are faced with life's challenges, but some people realise that action is needed to keep them going

POLOKWANE – It is very easy to fall into despair when you are faced with life’s challenges, but some people realise that action  is needed to keep them going.

This is what two brothers did when they established their own design business in the city, specialising in unique African traditional clothing and shoes.

Originally from Malawi, John Fungulani (34) and Mishack Jolinda (31) have been living in Westenburg for the past three years.

Jolinda, a father of one, explains it was always his dream to be a designer. “I started to sew clothes at the age of 17. Since our business has been featured in Polokwane Express, our business is now doing well and people appreciate and like our designs.

“It was not easy before that to generate enough income, but with the exposure and support we now receive from our customers, we are able to do something. We generate R4 000 to R5 000 monthly and are also able to support our families.”

Jolinda thanks Polokwane Express for marketing them to help their business grow in the right direction.

Fungulani adds they designs clothes for men, women and children of all sizes and figures.

“Our designs are of high quality and our deals are one of a kind. We also have several unique styles to ensure we meet all customers’ needs,” says Fungulani.
