Accident on N1 claims lives of father, mother, 2 children

LIMPOPO – A family of four lost their lives in a head on collision on the N1 just north of Louis Trichardt in the early hours of yesterday (Friday) morning, said Limpopo police.

“The family from Zimbabwe travelling in a Land Rover collided head on with a small truck at approximately 04:45 on Friday morning,” said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“The father, mother and two girls aged 14 and 2 died on the scene. Two boys aged 7 and 8 survived the accident and were taken to hospital in a critical condition. The driver of the truck, who is also from Zimbabwe was also critically injured.”

Names will be released once next of kin has been informed concluded Otto.
