Refuse collection: muni working to rectify issue

POLOKWANE – According to Matshidiso Mothapo, a municipal spokesperson, the municipality was not able to collect refuse according to their weekly program this week due to mechanical problems on their trucks.

Residents are urged by the municipality not to remove their rubbish from the streets, as it will be collected soon.

“The trucks had mechanical problems, but this matter has been resolved and the municipality is working around the clock to deal with the backlog. As soon as we have cleared the backlog the normal program will continue.”
