Limpopo beauties to represent SA in Barbados pageant

After a nail biting journey culminating in a glamorous Miss Humanity South Africa (SA) pageant recently in Polokwane saw Vickey Vorster and Charmaine Nkosi crowned as Miss Humanity SA Teen 2016 and Miss Humanity SA 2016. They will represent South Africa at the International Miss Humanity pageant in Barbados from 23 April to 3 May.
Katryn Barwise, reigning Miss Humanity and organiser of the pageant said the event was a massive success. The pageant drew more than 220 guests. Barwise explained that each contestant completed two big charity projects, because the purpose of Miss Humanity SA is to uplift communities and empower young girls.
The judging conducted by head judge Yolande Nel, Editor of Polokwane Observer, Marli Markgraaff, Dorah Phala and Lesego Tshivhula saw the finalists parade in their swimwear where after they took the audience and judges on a South African experience in their national costumes. Breath-taking gowns were also part of the successful evening.
“Vickey and Charmaine’s entry fee of R30 000 each as well as accommodation and meals forms part of their prize package. I will accompany them oversees and personally train and groom these two worthy winners to excel on the international level,” said Barwise.
She explained that the judges looked for winners who would be able to compete internationally and looked at finalists’ ability to organise charity projects, secure sponsorships, do great motivational talks, and look great in swimwear, national costume and eveningwear. “They looked for a humble and hardworking girl who has the qualities to perform well at Miss Humanity International where they need to compete against more than 15 countries.”
Miss Humanity SA Junior Teen 2016 (7 to 12 years): Mahlatse Mabotja grabbed the title followed by Rebotile Letshedi and Francine Andrew who also won the Best Humanitarian Project Award in her age group.

Miss Humanity SA Teen 2016 (13 to 15 years): Vickey Vorster was announced as the winner. Kabelo Lekgoathi was crowned first princess and Jané Bacher second princess. Tamryn Terblanche took the award for Best Humanitarian Project in her age group.
Miss Humanity SA 2016 (16 to 27 years): Charmaine Nkosi was crowned as Miss Humanity SA 2016 and also received the award for Best Humanitarian Project. Lebogang Morudu was announced as first princess and Matjie Mabetlela as second princess.
