‘Polokwane needs more in the form of entertainment’
Review spoke to residents and asked them what they think Polokwane needs in the entertainment sector:
POLOKWANE – If you listen to the word out there it sounds as if there is not a lot of entertainment going on in the city.
Apart from the movies, Let’s Go Bowling and mini golf, residents still complain there is not much to do for relaxation.
Review spoke to residents and asked them what they think Polokwane needs in the entertainment sector:

“I would love the city to have an ice-skating rink where we can enjoy our weekends,” Mpho Makhaga said.

Marita Steenkamp agreed and said just the thought of an ice-skating rink makes her excited as her children do not have a lot of places to go and entertain themselves.
Annemarie Gordon also feels the city needs an ice-skating ring.
“And clubs where people can hang out without having to watch drug dealers do their thing or fights starting.”

Hope Mojapelo feels an ice-skating rink will be good and also favours more flea markets with young fashion designer’s clothes on offer.
“That would be a big thing.”

For Evans Shilabye, theatres with performing artists will be great.
“I want to see more artists in Polokwane, everyone is going to Johannesburg, why can’t they come here?” he asked.

“I also think more opportunities for the fashion market should be given. Places where designers can showcase their work,” Laurence Maboko said.

For Mariëtte Pretorius, a park with jazz bands or other entertainment will be the highlight of her day.

Johan Wagenaar does not have anything specific in mind.
“I just feel the prices are very high and the service is not good at all.”

“Polokwane needs more than just a variety of entertainment.
“It needs people to support this variety.
“It won’t help if we have all the entertainment but people do not support them,” Schalk Buchling said.
