Don’t let your unlicenced kids drive your car – police
The Westenburg police appeal to motorists not to allow anyone to drive their vehicles without a valid driver’s licence

POLOKWANE – Westenburg police spokesperson, Capt Mahlaka Mashiane, said there were a lot people, especially parents, who allowed their children to drive their vehicles without the legal documents to do so.
“Not only are these parents placing their children’s lives in danger, but the safety of other road users. Those who are found driving without a driver’s licence will face the full arm of the law,” said Mashiane.
He said they often received several complaints from parents that their children were missing and took their vehicles without their consent.
“Parents are urged to put their motor vehicle keys in a safe place where their children cannot find it. If they report the child and vehicle missing, a case of using motor vehicle without owner’s consent will be opened, and the suspect will be charged,” Mashiane said.
