Sam’s bicycle wish a reality

Reach for a Dream Foundation makes yet another dream come true

POLOKWANE – With the aim to fulfill the dreams of children suffering from life threatening illnesses, the Reach for a Dream Foundation recently donated a bicycle to one of the patients at the Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at Pietersburg Provincial Hospital.

Reach for a Dream seeks to alleviate the strain that a life-threatening illness places on children and their families by providing the children with the opportunity to realise their dreams.

Sam Seabela had a couple of wishes and one of them was to own a bicycle.

Another wish is to watch a soccer match at the stadium, but his doctor broke the news that this would not be possible as he is too weak to travel to the stadium.

Sam said he was elated that one of his wishes finally came true and he will focus on getting better so that he will be able to ride his bicycle. “I have to eat my veggies to get strong and replace this wheelchair with my bicycle. I am very happy to finally own a bicycle,” said Sam.

His sister, Violet, thanked TLC facilitator, Bobby Were for making her young brother’s dream a reality.

“I am delighted that my brother got what he wished for. I wish he could get better and ride his bicycle. I would like to thank Bobby for his continued support. He is the best and always makes sure the children are happy,” said Violet.

Bobby said they have sessions at TLC where children are given a chance to pen down their dreams.
