New store contributes to economic growth in town

The grand opening of Cashbuild in Mokopane on the corner of Dudu Madisha and Nelson Mandela Drive last Friday was a remarkable event that was attended by Mayor Parks Sebatjane.

MOKOPANE – Sebatjane said: “The Mogalakwena Municipality is excited to witness the opening of Cashbuild, as this contributes to the economic growth within Mogalakwena. The fact that Cashbuild invested and has been listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), is an indication that they have confidence in the country despite the current economic challenges our country is facing and for that reason we applaud them.”

Sebatjane further said: “As the municipality and government at the local level our work is not necessarily to create jobs, it is to create a conducive environment for businesses to be able to function so they can create jobs.”

As the learners of seven primary schools were among the guests that attended the grand opening of Cashbuild, Sebatjane emphasised that he is glad to see that Cashbuild values the young people as they are the future of the country.

The learners from the seven schools took part in various activities during the opening and they won great prizes. Cashbuild sweetened the morning even further by donating R15 000 cash to each school.

Sebatjane appealed to the principals and School Governing Bodies (SGB) to make sure that the donation is utilized of the right purpose. “The municipality have allocated more than R600 million towards infrastructure development for water, electricity, roads and sanitation making Mogalakwena a place to invest in.

We also plan to broaden the N11,” Sebatjane shared. He concluded by urging the community to raise their voice by casting their vote on 3 August.
