Unemployed and underprivileged residents of the city who spend their days in the vicinity of SABC Park were met by a welcome sight on Monday when staff and students of Polo-kwane Boston City Campus & Business College arrived to offer them hearty homemade soup and bread. This was part of the institution’s Mandela Day celebrations and Melaney Beneke, Branch Manager, said it gave them great joy to be able to reach out to members of the community who are less fortunate.
“We prepared 60 litres of soup which we served with bread. By so doing we live by the ethos of the late Nelson Mandela, a generous man who always considered other people. We are glad to have made a difference in their lives,” Beneke commented.
