UPDATE 4 – All has thus far gone well in Westenburg where voters were assisted at Westenburg Secondary School.

Here long queues have formed since early morning and mainly consisted of elderly residents.

Elsewhere in the city at Laerskool Pietersburg-Oos processes ran smoothly during Polokwane Observer’s earlier visit. Queues were short early on in the day. At around noon Premier Stan Mathabatha is expected to cast his vote at the station.

At the voting station at Mitchell House already 15 potential voters were queuing at around 06:45 and were attended to promptly when doors opened. No problems were experienced.

A long queue marked the voting processes at Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord, where more than one classroom was made available to accommodate numbers. Here a mix of young and old characterised the voting public registered to vote.
