Edupark’s first intake of young participants in its pilot Raspberry Pi gaming programming training course received their certificates upon completion of the introductory programme on Saturday. It brought to an end a four-week course in gaming programming on the credit card-sized single-board computer developed in the United Kingdom.
The programme was not only a first to be conducted by Edupark but also a first for Limpopo, it was learnt. The course was the result of more than a year of planning after identification of a gap for Limpopo kids keen to learn gaming programming.
Judging from the feedback the nine boys and a girl between the ages of 11 an 16 years who enrolled for the course had much fun tackling the various training aspects, while taking a leap into the exciting world of technology.
In presenting the participants with certificates, Edupark Chief Executive Officer Jo Nel congratulated the youngsters and referred to them as the future.
Edupark’s Adri Williams served as Programme Manager and the course was facilitated by computer programmer Christo Albrecht and network developer Thabo Mashiloane.
Enrolment for the next course has already commenced while an advanced training programme is on the cards.
