The N1 road north of Louis Trichardt from the Witvlag turn off up to the tunnel is now open says Provincial Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

LIM POLICE ALERT
LIMPOPO – The N1 road north of Louis Trichardt has been closed from the Witvlag turn off up to the tunnel due to an accident involving a truck carrying dangerous explosives.
Provincial Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo reports: “It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle at the top of the Soutpansberg mountains and fell by the wayside.”
“No fatalities were reported.”
The truck was transporting 13 tons of explosives and the consignment seems to be intact but motorists are advised to make use of the Witvlag and Waterpoort routes for now, adds Mojapelo.
It is expected the road will be closed for a while until tomorrow at around 08:00 concludes Mojapelo.
