Heuwelkruin learners add colour to David Nkoana Primary School

Four learners from Curro Heuwelkruin exhibited the true spirit of Ubuntu when they ventured to raise funds which would go toward refurbishing the David Nkoana Primary School in Seshego.

POLOKWANE – The learners managed to collect R8 000 that bought paint which was used to paint classroom doors as well as Fascia (PVC foam) boards which were added to one of the buildings at the school.

According one of the learners, Eduard Rautenbach, learners from Heuwelkruin visited the school last year to spend time with the learners.

It was upon this visit that they became aware of the needs of the school and decided to do something to assist them.

“This is all part of our life orientation project.

“Our school annually takes part in community upliftment projects,” said Eduard.

Another learner, Lizette Pretorius, said Madithapa Sandblasting and Painting and Anyalux were just a few of the companies that contributed to their project. She added that Polokwane residents were very supportive of the initiative.

David Nkoana Primary School Principal, Mphasha Thalitha said they were very happy, thankful to the learners of Curro Heuwelkruin for assisting them.

“They really helped us a lot and we hope other stakeholders will come forward and do good in the community,” she explained.

A David Nkoana learner, Hope Mojapelo, said she was pleased with the school’s new look. “The school looks amazing. Now we just need help in upgrading their sport fields.”
