Educators from several schools in and around Polokwane were invited to attend the Boston City Campus & Business College Polokwane annual Teachers’ Forum at a local lodge on Friday.
The goal of this gathering is to show educators how much they mean to both the college and society as a whole. College management also handed bursaries of R10 000 each to the schools that can be used as per the school’s discretion to help learners who want to further their studies at Boston City Campus & Business College.
The Teachers’ Forum is a platform for educators to talk about perceived gaps in tertiary education offerings and other education related matters.
Boston City Campus & Business College personnel treated delegates to a delicious three course lunch and handed out several vouchers for beauty salons, restaurants, clothing stores, and other gifts during two lucky draws.
Melaney Beneke, Branch Manager of Boston City Campus & Business College Polokwane opened the session with a few remarks. She explained that teachers and their input are very important to the college, which is why they decided to host these annual meetings to discuss education with educators.
Beneke gave a short overview of Boston City Campus & Business College. Boston Polokwane offers courses that cover a broad spectrum of fields. They are registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution and are accredited by the Financial Management Institute of Southern Africa and the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. The college is also registered as a tuition support licensee of Unisa, accredited by several Skills Education Training Authorities (Setas) and is a member of the Microsoft IT Academy Programme.
The flexibility of their study methods helps to prevent drop-outs and makes it possible for students who are also employed full time to access tertiary studies. Boston events management student, Thabiso Mthimunye was introduced to guests as an example of how effective the Boston study method is. Mthimunye used what she had learned in her studies and organised the Teacher’s Forum event on behalf of the college.
The event ended with a pleasant networking session where educators were able to talk about education matters that had an influence on their performance and learners’ results.
