Body of missing 10-year-old girl found
The body of the 10-year-old Reneilwe Makomoto was discovered this afternoon (Monday), says the police.
LIMPOPO – Two elderly women came across her body today while looking for wood in a dense bushy area outside Ratsaka Village said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.
Reneilwe was last seen at around 14:00 on Tuesday while playing with friends in the Capricorn Park, Morebeng area near Soekmekaar.
According to information she told them that she was going home but never reached her house… her friends also did not seen her again.”
Members of the family have identified the body as the missing girl but DNA testing will be done to confirm identity added Otto.
“The cause of death is also not yet known and a post mortem will still be conducted.”
Police investigations continue.

LIMPOPO – A search party consisting of members of SAPS, K9 unit, Search and Rescue and members of the community is currently underway in the Morebeng area near Soekmekaar.
The search for 10-year-old Reneilwe Makomoto from Capricorn Park area resumed this morning (Thursday), says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.
A search party consisting of members of SAPS, K9 unit, Search and Rescue and members of the community was launched following her dissappearance on Tuesday afternoon in the Morebeng area near Soekmekaar.
Reneilwe was last seen at around 14:00 on Tuesday while playing with friends in the Capricorn Park area.
“According to information she told them that she was going home but never reached her house… her friends also did not seen her again.”
Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation is requested to contact their nearest police station or the investigating officer Warrant Officer Mokgolobotho at 082 595 6193 adds Otto.
This comes two day after the body of a 7-year-old kidnapping victim was found floating in a cattle (plunge) dip in Olifantshoek in the Hlanganani area.
The boy was taken by an unknown suspect on Sunday afternoon at approximately 15:00 while he was playing with his friends.
