No arrest has been made as yet in the matter of a political leader and member of the Legislature suspected of allegedly assaulting two of his party members during a meeting in Jane Furse on Sunday.
This morning (Wednesday) Provincial Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe told Polokwane Observer that the Police in Limpopo have connected with their colleagues in areas of other provinces about the alleged whereabouts of the suspect in an attempt to get him back to Limpopo to be charged.
Earlier Ngoepe indicated that information at their disposal pointed at the fact that the suspect was out of the province and that the Police were in contact with his lawyers about getting him back to the province.
A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm was registered after an alleged argument at the meeting in Jane Furse at around noon on Sunday, it was learnt. On Monday Ngoepe said that during the assault two victims, a woman aged 27 years and a 31-year-old man, have sustained bruises to the face and were taken to a local clinic for medical treatment.
