Christmas and New Year’s message from MEC for Health

The year 2016 ushered in many opportunities and challenges which we endured and overcame.

As the year draws to a close, we call on all members of the public to practice and promote a healthy lifestyle. As we embark on festivities with friends and family, I encourage you to conduct health tests such as eye testing, diabetes testing, blood pressure and HIV-AIDS testing, among others, as a way of staying healthy and safe at all times.

Excessive consumption of alcohol and other harmful substances should be discouraged, since it affects the health of our community. We encourage all people of Limpopo to consume a healthy balanced diet. To those who are still sexually active, let’s ensure that we apply the ABC-rule during this season, by abstaining, being faithful and condomising.

I wish all the people of Limpopo, and the employees of the department, a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
