Nape Nchabeleng appointed Lim DG

Nchabeleng will be responsible for the management provincial administration's performance, monitoring and evaluating service delivery as well as governance in the province.

POLOKWANE – Nape Nchabeleng has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of Limpopo with effect from 1 February.

The decision was approved by the executive council on 24 January after Nchabeleng has held the position as Acting DG since October 2015. Phuti Pheme was Acting DG since October 2013 and Nchabeleng was appointed Acting DG upon Pheme’s retirement.

Nchabeleng holds a BA degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, having majored in political studies and international relations.

He also holds an honours degree in politics and a master of science degree in development planning.

As the DG, he will be responsible for the administration of provincial and national legislation, ensuring that the provincial administration has the necessary capacity in terms of governance, policies, systems and business processes as well as coordinating the preparation and initiation of provincial legislation.

He will be responsible for the management provincial administration’s performance, monitoring and evaluating service delivery as well as governance in the province.

Along with that, Nchabeleng is expected to develop and oversee the implementation of policy and planning in the province, strengthen intra- and inter-governmental relations as well as international relations and provide corporate management of the Office of the Premier. The Premier Spokesperson, Phuti Seloba, said as provincial government, they believe they have made the right decision in appointing Nchabaleng, saying they have chosen a young and vibrant candidate.

“We have confidence in him and we believe he will get the job done and that he will steer the ship in the right direction,” Seloba told Review.
