Eleven arrests made during provincial operations

Crime intelligence driven operations were conducted throughout the province over the weekend.

LIMPOPO- Eleven suspects were nabbed during crime intelligence driven operations throughout the Province over the weekend.

An operation was conducted around the Seshego policing precinct which led to an arrest of four suspects for dealing in and illegal possession of dagga.

Police spokesperson Brig. Motlafela Mojapelo says the four suspects aged 21 ,23 ,26 and 43 respectively, were arrested after being found in possession of dagga.

In Musina, a 29-year-old suspect was arrested after seven cell phones, a taser, a gold necklace, a knife, a shaving machine, US dollars as well as cash money were found in his room .

Three suspects were arrested in Thabazimbi following the recovery of items stolen during house breaking.

“The suspects were arrested at Northam during the joint operation. The three suspects aged between 27 and 32 were found in possession of a laptop, cellphone and a plasma tv. The vehicle, a red Golf, used by the suspects, was also confiscated,” says Mojapelo.

In Lephalale, two suspects aged 33 and 35, were arrested for allegedly being found in possession of five sachets as well as 40 rolls of dagga in the Vila Nora policing area.

In Giyani, two suspects aged 29 and 32, who are from Letsitele near Tzaneen, were nabbed after being found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. “Preliminary investigation indicated that the firearm belonged to SAPS and the two were intercepted as they were on their way to commit business robbery,” says Mojapelo.

All the 11 suspects are expected to appear before various magistrates’ courts in the province soon.
