Lim SAPS crack down on crime in the province

Intelligence driven operations throughout the week and parts of the weekend have led to the arrest of 52 suspects, between the ages of 18 and 46.

LIMPOPO – According to police spokesperson Lt Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the operations were conducted throughout the province by various police units including areas such as Seshego, Thohoyandou, Burgersfort, Lebowakgomo, Marble Hall, Giyani, Musina, Bela-Bela, Mahwelereng ,Phalaborwa ,Hlogotlou ,Mankweng and Hlanganani.

“The suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robberry, burglary (businesses and residential), possession of a firearm without a license as well as possession of dagga,” said Ngoepe.

He says the following items were recovered :
– Two firearms with one magazine.
– Three motor vehicles.
– 11 cell phones.
– Eight Plasma TVs.
– Three big compressors, a computer, tool box carrying new unused tools and one blue compressor.
– One Jojo tank.
– A generator.
– Three stolen tyres.
– 1x Packard Bell Laptop.
– Various toiletries and perishables.
– Cutlery, cooking pots, a coffee machine, clothing and boxes of dagga.

“The total estimated value of all the recovered items is around R2 million and the arrested suspects will appear before various Magistrate Courts soon,” said Ngoepe.

Police investigations are still continuing.
