No need to worry about Enawo, says weather service

The South African Weather Service says it will continue monitoring this system and will warn of any potential threat beforehand.

POLOKWANE – Following Ex Tropical cyclone Dineo‘s landfall a few weeks ago, the South African Weather Service says there is no need for South Africans to worry about Moderate Tropical Storm “Enawo”, which is currently north of Mauritius.

“Despite the overall uncertainty with respect to future movement of Enawo, the South African Weather Service can state with high confidence that, at least for the next 3 to 4 days, there is no need for concern,” says Chief Forecaster, Kevin Rae.
Enawo is currently causing havoc in Madagascar with wind speeds of up to 195 km/h and flooding reported in the north eastern part of the country on Tuesday.

The South African Weather Service says it will continue to monitor any further developments relating to this weather system and will issue subsequent updates as required.
“The public is urged to regularly follow weather forecasts on television and radio. Updated information can also be found at www.weathersa.co.za as well as via the SA Weather Service Twitter account @SAWeatherService or facebook,” says Rae.
