Limpopo’s potential: residents share their thoughts

Review took to the streets to speak to residents on what they think Limpopo should improve on to have its name with the likes of Gauteng, Western Cape and other major provinces.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo’s growth is commendable. As a province, cities are growing and quickly becoming economic hubs and business centrals with much more growth opportunity.

However, many people still see Limpopo as a rural province and its potential is therefore marred.

Review took to the streets to speak to residents on what they think Limpopo should improve on for other provinces to take us seriously or to consider us when it comes to hosting entertainment and other big upcoming events.

Here is what residents had to say:

Tinny Molepo says she thinks Limpopo must improve in building more schools for our kids, because most schools are over populated.

“I hope Limpopo improves in building more employment rather that building infrastructure, because a lot of people are struggling out there and they need to support their families. It wouldn’t hurt if they create more workplaces for people who have went to school and actually deserve it,” Connie Thansa said.

David Phasa says he wishes the municipality and government would build more RDP homes and also give them to unemployed people instead of giving it to people ‘underground’ who are working. He says it is unfair that some people do not have homes to live in.

Ernest Rambau believes Polokwane is developing too slow for a city that has a lot of potential and that leaves tourists losing interest in coming to our province. “People who are qualified in upgrading our infrastructure within the Departments, must take part in forming Limpopo into the most beautiful and entertaining province, and they must do their job accordingly, which will attract more people, especially tourists, to come to Polokwane to explore it.
