The case against a suspended Police captain of the Provincial Crime Prevention Unit, Tume Ramahlaha was postponed in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Wednesday).
Ramahlaha, who is being charged with resisting arrest and defeating the ends of justice, is expected back in court on 14 and 15 June.
During yesterday’s proceedings the State Prosecutor, Elijah Mamabolo, recused himself in the light of an investigation instituted against him.
According to information the case stems from Ramahlaha’s alleged victimisation of state witnesses in a rape case against a colleague in December 2015.
Bail was extended.
Magistrate Marc Rijkenberg was on the bench and Dawid Maree appeared for the defence.
