Wiers murder suspects denied bail

Both Maela and Hlangwani were arrested in connection with Wiers' brutal murder.

POLOKWANE – The two suspects in the Tanya Wiers murder case, Frans Maela and Alfred Hlangwane were both denied bail in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on this morning (22 March).

According to Magistrate Janine Ungerer, both suspects face two charges of schedule six crimes which are murder and burglary with intent to hurt and bail for these offenses is more difficult to obtain.

Wiers was brutally murdered on 6 February in her home in Eduan Park.

She sustained several stab wounds to the neck and under the chin and other more serious injuries.
