[INFOGRAPHIC] Farmer support gets biggest chunk of Agriculture’s Budget

The budget for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development was delivered recently by member of the executive council for the department, Mapula Mokaba-Phukwana.

POLOKWANE – Mokaba-Phukwana said through the budget, the department are determined to improve and transform the living conditions of the people of Limpopo for the better, all through agriculture and rural development.

“Through this 2017/2018 financial year budget vote, we intent ensuring that, the radical economic 4
transformation agenda is realised.”

Mokaba-Phukwana said prime agricultural land needs special attention in order to protect existing productivity and prevent its destruction to the detriment of sound food security and job creation and as such, farmer support and development will receive R1 100 549 billion in the next financial year.
