Lalamani’s detailed playbook on self-discovery creates a buzz of interest across SA

An expert in logotherapy, this experienced motivational speaker has dotted down ways to answer life's pressing questions

POLOKWANE – Local author, Musa Lalamani’s latest release, Journey of Meaningful Self-Discovery: A Call for Human Emergence, has created a buzz of interest across the country.

Originally from a dusty village in Ha-Magidi, Musa is a motivational speaker who aspires to educate and coach people from all walks of life to emerge and live life infused with a greater sense of meaning and purpose.

His cutting-edge communication acumen is highly sought-after in both the corporate and private space by hosting Journey of Meaningful Self-Discovery workshops in Mpumalanga and Gauteng. These workshops, much like his book, are designed to challenge the inner self with the sole intent of not only discovering the authentic self, but even more, to self-transcend to emerge with greater purpose and meaning.

He is an internationally qualified logo therapist and academic associate of the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logo Therapy, and a professional speaker at BluePrint Future Skills Development.

Musa has featured as the keynote speaker, motivational speaker, human development consultant, and life coach on various community organisations such as churches, non-profit organisations, schools, on TV, and radio.

Through his Phalaphala FM motivation of the week slot and appearance on SA FM, Unisa Radio, Univen Radio, Tshwane TV, Gauteng TV, Emalahleni FM, and Capricorn FM, he has become a meaningful voice to unearth human potential. “In 2015 I co-presented a leadership development course, a Unisa initiative, under the banner of Chance2Advance at Dennilton in Mpumalanga,” he explains.

In his book, people will find answers to these deep, yet personal, questions: What is a meaningful and authentic self?; Who has covered the self if it needs discovery?; What is the purpose of self-discovery?; Why is it so necessary to discover the self; and How is self-discovery possible amidst the external forces?

“I discovered my love for writing at a young age. Writing to me was a way of expressing my deeper and insightful thoughts. Even though I never ventured into writing books that got published, I was always fascinated by reading books and articles. My biggest drive is my curiosity and my need of wanting to know more. I especially enjoyed writing essays while I was in school because it gave both my knowledge and imagination to take wing. The one profession which greatly appealed to me was in the space of assurance and governance in the corporate environment. In this space I developed my writing by finding better ways of writing findings and possible corrective measures that could be considered by senior management. Writing is something that has always been a part of me,” he added.

He sees life as a question which constantly wants to draw answers from the rich deposits of our experiences. “This is why when I share my experiences with someone, I then afford them a chance to look at life anew. I’m also moved by the notion of human value. More recently I’m specifically drawn by societal ills which is why I’m determined to empower whoever I come across with knowledge which is timely and has proven to be sustainable. Leaders are indeed readers,” he said.

He gathers inspiration from authors such as Dr Elijah Maswanganyi, Dr David Molapo, Dr Myles Munroe, Dr Stephen Covey, and John Mason as well as many other Venda authors who shaped his world in a personal and professional perspective.
