Brian brings a local twist to travel and tourism

25-year-old, Brian Ramokone established Brian's Travel & Tour Associate as he found difficulty in finding a job

POLOKWANE – Hailing from a dusty village called Laastehoop in Ga-Molepo, Brian Ramokone is the proud founder and CEO of a travel and tour enterprise based in Limpopo and Gauteng.

Brian, a graduate in Financial Accounting, said he decided to start his own enterprise after he saw how difficult it was to find a job.

“When I finished my qualification at Jeppe College, I never thought I would struggle so much to get a job. I then sat down and thought of what I can do. I knew I loved to travel and I immediately came up with an idea to start booking vacations on behalf of people, making the reservations for them at their desired locations as well as organising transport to take them to those places and also to bring them back. At first it was difficult to get people to trust me but now it is much easier,” he said.

He says that new forms of technology make it easier for him to fish for clients and market his business. He says that is where he gets information about which place is best to vacate and for which season.

“Having travelled all over South Africa, I can now confidently advise clients on which place is best to visit and when. I love travelling because I love to learn different things about different places, one day I hope to become a big travel and tour entrepreneur and hopefully serve as an inspiration to my peers because we need to go out there and create opportunities for ourselves, we can’t just sit and wait for those jobs that we went to school for,” he explains.

Brian’s business offers various packages, such as organised trips (can be adventure trips, eco and tourism etc), location bookings and shuttle services (airport shuttle). He outsources his transport services for now, in turn creating business opportunities and job employment for people in the community.
