Six suspects arrested in trio crime syndicate crackdown in Hoedspruit

The suspects were connected to a series of house breaking businesses which were committed in this area

LIMPOPO – Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says police are continuing to achieve significatn gains in the fight against crime in Limpopo.

Ngoepe says the six suspects were arrested during an ongoing intelligence-led joint operation comprising of the Phalaborwa crime intelligence unit and the Phalaborwa trio task team, in partnership with the farm watch.

“During this operation, six suspects, between the ages of 23 and 41-year-old, were arrested and found in possession of suspected stolen properties in the Sekororo area. The suspects were connected to a series of house breaking businesses which were committed in this area,’ he explained.

When the suspects were arrested, a bulk of stolen items were recovered which were as follows :
– Bottles of whisky.
– Three john deere caps.

– A Bicycle and jacket.

– Two plasma TV’s, a compressor, a refrigerator, a welding machine, a music system, speakers.

– Two laptops, a chain block, a chain saw, three sports lights, a drilling machine, two hammers and one tool box.

Ngoepe says the process of identifying the items by the complainants is still unfolding and the suspects will appear before the Hoedspruit Magistrate Court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has welcomed the arrest and has encouraged all members involved in these operations to continue ridding this province of any act of criminality.

“This achievement will bring relief to all the residents of Hoedspruit. We therefore urge everybody to rally behind the police as they continue to limit the space for criminals to operate,” concluded Ledwaba.
