35-year-old man arrested in Hoedspruit for raping his five-year-old daughter

The man appeared in the Hoedspruit Magistrate's Court on a charge of rape on Wednesday 6 December 2017

LIMPOPO – According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the suspect and his wife were separated and agreed to rotate their son and daughter between their respective residences.

“Last week, the suspect took the children to his place of residence, where they stayed till Sunday, 3 December. When arriving back with their mother, the daughter informed her that she had been raped by her father,” Ngoepe explained.

The matter was reported to the police, who arrested the suspect.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Bafana Linda has condemned what he says is an escalating trend of domestic related crime taking place in the province.

The suspect is expected to reappear before the court on 13 December 2017.
