Six people killed in separate accidents across the province

Reasons for these accidents include pedestrians and animals in the road as well as speeding

LIMPOPO – The department of transport have once again called on motorists to be cautious when driving after four separate accidents took place on Limpopo’s roads.

In the first accident, which took place on the N1-28 near Botlokwa RDP, two motor vehicles collided head side.

According to the department’s spokesperson, Moremi Matome, the officer on scene said the driver of a VW Polo entered the road unsafely and collided with a Mercedes Benz.

Two people were killed while one passenger was seriously injured and three others sustained minor injuries.

“The patients were transported to a hospital in Botlokwa,” Matome said.

In the second accident, a 48-year-old woman was killed after a VW Polo knocked a pedestrian while crossing the road, in the Matititi Village in Malamulele.

Meanwhile, in Greenside, a pedestrian was also knocked down and killed by a Hyundai sedan.

In the fourth reported accident, two people were killed and one person moderately injured when an over-speeding BMW hit two cattle in Makgatle in the Sekhukhune District.

The department has called on motorists to be vigilant and keep to the rules of the road.
