The first Friday of December was not only a day of great excitement for learners of Mitchell House because it was the last day of school for 2017, but also because learners of the Intermediate Phase were awarded for excellence.
The prize giving ceremony coincided with the final assembly that took place in the school’s theatre and trophies and certificates were handed over by Headmaster Andrew Cook and Deputy Headmaster Kathy Proctor.
Grade 7 learner Teagan Smit received the Headmaster’s Award for the learner who most exemplified the spirit and ethos of Mitchell House Intermediate Phase and the Dux Award for Academic Excellence went to Grade 7 learner Faizaan Gani. Humayd Dada, Faizaan Gani, Fardeen Rhemtula and Jacques Snyman received Honours Awards for Cultural Excellence.
Other learners received awards for sports achievements, full attendance from Grade 4 to 7 as well as academic endeavours.
