89 suspects arrested in Thohoyandou during Lim SAPS operations

The arrested suspects will soon appear in different magistrate courts.

LIMPOPO – In ongoing weekend operations, backed by provincial cluster stations, 89 suspects were put behind bars on various crimes over the week end, says police spokesperson Lt Col. Mashudu Malelo.

“The arrested suspects are facing charges ranging from pointing of a firearm, possession of suspected stolen property, public drinking, possession of dagga, all forms of assaults as well as drunken driving,” Malelo said.

Some of the highlights of these arrests include:

• 15 people arrested at Thohoyandou medium B prison for smuggling dagga parcels into the cells.

• During a stop and search operation, three people were also arrested found in possession of suspected stolen copper cables.

The Cluster Commander of Thohoyandou, Major General Rosina Mulaudzi has commended all members involved in these on-going operations for the arrests and confiscations made.
