One of the longest serving educators at Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS), Makosha Matseba was officially announced to the staff and learners as the school’s new Deputy Principal last Thursday.
Matseba has been teaching at the school for the past 23 years and was appointed by the Department of Education on 1 January this year.
She teaches Sciences and Life Orientation and is Head of African Languages at the school. She takes over from the school’s current principal, Rudi Fick who vacated the position in 2016.
“I feel blessed and proud to take over the position and one of my objectives is to take the school to the next level of excellence. We have a good school and as part of the management team I want to see the school excelling in all activities. We strive for quality education and we will continue providing quality education,” Matseba said.
Matseba admitted to never thinking she would be appointed I the post.
“I acted for a year and it was challenging but I enjoyed every moment. The post was later advertised, I applied and was called for interviews on 12 December last year. The rest is history,” Matseba said.
The school also welcomed three pairs of twins among the newly enrolled learners.
The Makweya siblings Mokgethwa and Kgarubi are in Grade 2 while Jaden and Nyasha Chauke and, Lesego and Tshegofatso Letsoalo are all in Grade 1.
