Noorderland Class of 2017 matriculants rake in distinctions

Four of Noorderland High School’s matriculants of 2017 earned seven distinctions each, with a total number of 105 distinctions being earned and 81 matriculants receiving Bachelor passes.
Acting principal, Thabo Ratema congratulated all staff members and matriculants for these excellent results.
The position of top learner in the school was shared between Boitumelo Makgabo and Madimetja Letsoalo, who both obtained seven distinctions and averages of 93,7%.
Makgabo’s subjects were Sepedi Home Language, English First Additional Language, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Accounting and Life Orientation. He also received an award from Education MEC Ismael Kgetjepe at the announcement of the 2017 matric examination results on 5 January for obtaining 100% in Mathematics, Accounting and Physical Sciences. He also obtained 100% in all his subjects throughout the year.
Letsoalo received seven distinctions for Sepedi Home Language, English First Additional Language, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, IT, Accounting and Life Orientation. He was also awarded during the announcement of the matric results, for having obtained 100% in Accounting.
The third learner who obtained seven distinctions had an average of 89,3%. Lerato Mokgonyana’s subjects were Sepedi Home Language, English First Additional Language, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, IT, Economics and Life Orientation.
Thapelo Mokgonyana, with an average of 89%, obtained her seven distinctions for Sepedi Home Language, English First Additional Language, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, IT, Economics and Life Orientation.
The personnel at Noorderland High School are determined to ensure excellent results again next year and in lieu of this, have come up with an improvement plan that will include midweek and Saturday extra classes, evening studies and Easter, winter and autumn classes or camps.
