Five athletes from Laerskool Ivy Park qualified to compete in the upcoming Limpopo Championship after they excelled in their respective items during the district championship on Friday, 23 February.
These Ivy Park athletes are excited to take part in the Limpopo Championships. They are in front Olubanzi Mlangeni (u/10 long jump) and Makoma Tjege (u/13 high jump). At the back are Xihluke Mlondobozi (o/12 75 m hurdles), Owetu Mlangeni (o/13 high jump) and Rati Mojapelo (o/12 shot put).
POLOKWANE – Olubanzi Mlangeni received second place in the girls u/10 long jump, Makoma Tjege won third place in the girls u/13 high jump, Rati Mojapelo received third place in the boys u/12 shot put, Owetu Mlangeni received a third place in the girls u/13 girls high jump and Xihluke Mlondobozi secured second place in the 75 m hurdles for girls u/12.
The school’s sport organiser, Gavin Theron, said he was proud of the athletes and their accomplishment. “These athletes have our full support. They have been training diligently to give their best at the Limpopo Championships. They, like all our dedicated athletes, make us beam with pride.”
