Jolly red yard the talk of the town
Stephen Mageza's yard is the talk at every street corner of his kasi.
POLOKWANE – Some people from his kasi call his yard Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) legislature whereas some call it the EFF’s parliament.
All this is because of the party’s flags and banners flying in his yard.
Mageza (33) from Zone 1 in Seshego outside Polokwane, told CV that he uses the party’s branding in his yard because he has a lot of confidence in them.
He said he believes the party is the only solution to the problems faced by the youth in South Africa because the ruling ANC has failed them. He said some people from his kasi and surrounding areas would appreciate what he does whereas some would be jealous.
“Many people criticise me but that never bothered me with the decoration because every time I see my yard, I feel happy,” said Mageza.
He is unemployed and has struggled to find a job for many years without success. “I don’t mind if people criticise me on my yard decoration as I don’t regret the decorations,” he said.
He added now that Mzansi is heading to the 2019 elections, he has hope that if his party of choice wins, life will be better for the youths.
“The struggle faced by the youth is huge and that needs serious attention by the government,” he said.
“My yard has attracted many people and some would step in just to ask if I’m a member of the party or not. Every time I wake up, I get stressed because of being unemployed but my yard decorations always give me hope,” he said.
