[IN PICTURES] Bus on fire: Emcare trainees save the day
Firefighting trainees from Emcare immediately sprang into action when they received news of a bus on fire near their facility earlier this morning (Wednesday).
POLOKWANE – Emcare is a training facility which specialises in medical emergencies.
The bus transporting college students broke down alongside the R71 near the traffic circle and according to an eyewitness who passed the scene bust into flames after a small explosion.

“I spotted the bus on the side of the road when on the way to the office. “I immediately notified our office who reported the matter to the fire brigade. The fire is near to our facility so our trainees rushed to the scene to assist the department,” said Rosslyn Prinsloo.
The fire department arrived on the scene a short time later and the fire was contained and extinguished.
Traffic heading towards the city is still disrupted and motorists are urged to be patient or where possible avoid the area.
No one was injured in the fire and only one women was treated for smoke inhalation.
