[TAKE NOTE] The following streets in Polokwane have been affected by fallen trees

The Polokwane Municipality has warned residents that some of the fallen trees may affect electricity supply

POLOKWANE – The municipality has received several reports about fallen trees following a storm in the city.

Communications manager for the Polokwane Municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo, says teams are being dispatched to deal with the issue.

“The teams will work until they finish as there is a long list to be attended to and traffic management services will also be dispatched where required,” he said.

Motorists are therefore advised to be alert on the roads and Mothapo says some fallen trees may also affect electricity supply.

So far, the following streets have been reported to have trees on the road:

Grobler Street by the cemetery
Bush and Bulawayo Street 
Dorp and Bodeinstein Street 
Voortrekker between Marshall and Suid
Onder between Rissik and Devenish,
Voortrekker and Jorissen Street
Jorissen between Hoog and Oost Street 
Three trees in Compensatie between Jorissen and Grobler Street 
Marshall and Schoeman Street 
Magazyn and Devinish Street
Thabo Mbeki between Biccard and Hans Van Rensburg Street
De la Rey Street in Bendor
Landros Mare and Bodeinstein Street
Devinish and Dorp Street

“Other incidents can be reported to the municipal control center on 0152902457/248/2367,” Mothapo concluded.
