Electricity outages are being attended to, says Muni

The Polokwane Municipality says the outages are due to yesterday's heavy rain

POLOKWANE – The municipality is currently attending to electricity issues caused by heavy rain in and around the city as well as Seshego.

Technicians have located a fault and are busy working on cables in Joubert Street and surrounding areas. A faulty mini-substation at the corner Rissik and Dorp Street is also receiving attention.

“Other areas that experienced power outages have been restored and electricians are responding to individual complaints reported to the electrical call centre. Those affected are requested to exercise patience as there is a long list of complaints being attended to,” a statement read.

Residents affected are advised to switch off all their electrical appliances, including geysers, to avoid injuries and damage.

Electrical issues can be reported at 015 290 2490/2705.
