Three suspects arrested in connection with an armed robbery syndicate in Groblersdal

The three suspects are expected to appear at Mankweng and Morebeng Magistrate Courts respectively on Monday, 28 January.

LIMPOPO -A multi-disciplinary team comprising of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit, Limpopo Crime Intelligence, the Mankweng SAPS Tracing Team and the Westernburg SAPS detectives have arrested three suspects for a series of armed robberies.

Provincial spokesperson for the Hawks, Captain Matimba Maluleke, says the trio, between the ages of 32 and 40-years-old, are believed to be behind a spate of armed robberies in Groblersdal and were put behind bars on Friday evening, 25 January.

“One of the suspects was arrested in Mankweng and two were arrested in Botlokwa, where an unlicensed firearm was also recovered from one of them.

The three suspects are expected to appear at Mankweng and Morebeng Magistrate Courts respectively on Monday, 28 January and will face charges relating to armed robberies and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
