LIMPOPO – The streets of Thohoyandou came alive with the sound of roaring motorcycle engines last Saturday as local biking club Ven Riders MCC celebrated its official launch held at Babylon Resort.

More than 1 000 bikers attended the event, which combined a passion for motorcycles with a commitment to community service.

Giving back in Shayandima

In partnership with Gift of the Givers, the club visited Mmphuluseni Old Age Home in Shayandima, where members donated food parcels and blankets to support elderly residents.

The initiative aimed to bring comfort and hope to the beneficiaries, highlighting the importance of giving back to the community.

Ven Riders MCC president Tshume Tshindane said the club currently has 52 full members and 84 supporter members, with its focus firmly on quality rather than quantity.

“This was our official launch and we are thrilled with how it went.

“It is encouraging to see our club receiving support not only from the biking community but from the public as well.

“The event met our expectations, and we are grateful for the great turnout,” he said.

Twelve years in the making

Founded 12 years ago, the club was established to bring motorcycle enthusiasts together, build friendships and support those in need.

“The main purpose of Ven Riders MCC is to enjoy our bikes after work, meet new people and help the less fortunate,” Tshindane said.

Turnout doubles expectations

He added that although the club initially expected around 500 bikers from across South Africa, attendance exceeded expectations, with more than 1 000 riders taking part in last weekend’s activities.

“Our main purpose was to officially launch the club and give back to the less fortunate, and we achieved that. Helping communities is part of our motto, and we make sure every rally includes a charitable initiative. We will continue to host more charity events in future,” he concluded.
