Young girl (14) allegedly assaulted, raped by step father

The alleged incident happened at a village within the Seshego Policing area on 5 February 2019

POLOKWANE – The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has strongly condemned the continuous acts of violence perpetrated against children. This after a 40-year-old, assaulted and raped his 14-year-old step-daughter last month.

Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the mother of the victim had left her daughter with the suspect when the alleged incident occurred.

“It is alleged victim was about to bath when the suspect entered the victim’s room, assaulted her and then raped her.”

The matter was reported to the Police who started with their initial investigations and subsequently apprehended the suspect. He is set to make  his first appearance before the Seshego Magistrate court on Monday, 4 March.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
