Polokwane Municipality starts implementing water-shedding

The process will be implemented from this evening

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality will implement water-shedding as a temporary measure to reduce water shortages in high areas within the city, says Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala.

“This process will assist with accumulation of enough water in the reservoirs at night in order to generate enough pressure for water to reach high areas once released. This process will be implemented from Wednesday, 17 April 2019 and continue until the situation improves.”

Water supply would be shut-off from the Krugersburg reservoir overnight from 20:00 to 04:00 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

“The process to implement a permanent solution that includes the installation of a high-pressure pump, mini reservoir and non-return valves for high catchment areas in Serala View and Flora Park is also underway.

The municipality urged all residents to be patient during this process as it has the potential to make positive impacts to the current water situation.
