POLOKWANE – Water supply in Polokwane will be affected due to yet another burst on the Specon line from the Olifantspoort plant.
According to municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala, all areas within the Polokwane Municipality will be without water due to the stoppage of Olifantspoort by Lepelle Northern Water and that water supply will be restored once the line has been repaired.
“Repairs are estimated to take up to eight hours to finish, before the plant can be restarted,” he said.
Selala’s statement added that water supply from Ebenezer will also be disrupted due to planned maintenance. “Up to five hours of pumping water to Polokwane will be lost daily until the work is finished. Areas receiving water are urged to use water sparingly,” he concluded.
